Bruno Paillard Blanc de Blancs 2013 is made from Chardonnay grown in the prestigious Grand Crus of Oger and Mesnil-sur-Oger. Grape: Chardonnay
2013 was not an easy year for growers in Champagne, with a slow start due to cold, wet weather in winter and spring. Summer was quite cool, which delayed ripening. Warm weather finally arrived in September, giving the grapes a final push towards ripeness. The long, cool ripening season seems to have favoured chardonnay, resulting in classic, very well balanced Blanc de Blancs.
Complex aromas of fresh citrus fruit, white peach, toasted bread, ginger and chalk. The palate is crystalline and pure, concentrated yet delicate. There is a real sense of saline minerality on the finish.
A great aperitif or a particularly good match with sushi and shellfish
