Alicante Bouschet
Alicante Bouchet is a black grape from Languedoc-Roussillon in France, which was created from careful breeding from Grenache and Petit Bouschet. The particular characteristic of this grape is the red-coloured flesh, the colour not only comes from the thick skin, but also from the flesh. The result is a big, bold wine with berry driven aromas (black berries, blueberries, black cherries) and spicy smoky flavours such as vanilla bean and dark chocolate. This grape is now cultivated in France, Spain, Portugal, California, Chile and Africa.
