Glera
Glera is a white grape mainly used to produce Prosecco in Italy. Prosecco is a village near Trieste, however the sparkler is produced in the following areas: Prosecco, Conegliano-Valdobbiadene, Colli Asolani, Valdobbiadene Superiore and Valdobbiadene Cartizze.
The Glera grapes grown on south facing sloped hills give this wine a crispy acidity and aromas of green apple, melon, pear and honeysuckle. Perfect for a mimosa it does pair well with seafood, but it is also good as a palate cleanser with medium intensity foods, as well as Thai, Vietnamese and Asian cuisine.
