Quinta de la Rosa

Quinta de la Rosa is a single quinta producer of Port and table wines in the Alto Douro. The property has been owned by the same family since 1906, currently under the stewardship of Tim and Patricia Bergqvist. It is a remarkable estate, with vineyards stretching up from right at the bank of the river all the way up to an altitude of 450 metres. The variable altitude means that they have several different microclimates on the same property, giving the flexibility to produce different styles of wine, and it also helps them to cope with the differing weather patterns from one year to the next. Although they now produce more table wines than they do fortified, they still make a full range of delicious Ports, as a nod to the traditions of their region.
