Australia's 420,000 acres of vineyards planted throughout all the country, are mainly with Shiraz and Chardonnay. They produce 44% of all Aussie wines and especially in Barossa Valley, a very isolated area, there are some of the oldest living vineyards in the world.
The three major wine regions in Australia by shear volume are South Australia, New South Wales and Victoria.
