Wine by Popular Region
Well known wine regions are often protected with a special Designation of Origin status. DOCG and DOC are both quality classifications and under Italian wine law DOCG is the highest designation of quality among Italian wines. In Spain, Denominación de Origen (DO) and Denominación de Origen Calificada (DOCa) are the two highest categories of quality wine, equivalent to the EU’s Protected Designation of Origin (DOP) status.
