Mercier Champagne
Mercier Champagne is available at The Champagne Company and was founded by Eugene Mercier, who was only 20 years old when he founded his own champagne house in 1858 at the time of Napoleon III, the Second Empire. In 1869 he purchased a lot of land on the Avenue de Champagne in Epernay and in 1871 began digging out the cellars. In the 1880s the brand expanded spectacularly and when he died in 1904 left his family a considerable and prosperous business producing both vintage and non-vintage cuveé. Mercier owned the original rights to the name Dom Perignon but sold the brand to Moet et Chandon in 1930.
Mercier is the Number one selling Champagne brand in France.
