Rathfinny Estate Blanc de Blancs 2018 Sparkling Wine 75cl
Rathfinny Estate Blanc de Blancs 2018 Sparkling Wine 75cl is created using 100% Chardonnay grapes, hand-harvested from the Rathfinny Wine Estate in East Sussex. Often referred to as the vintage of the decade, 2018 was one of the warmest summers on record.
The Rathfinny estate is the perfect site for growing sparkling wine grapes with thin, clay loam soils over chalk creating great sources of water for the vines and the semi-continental climate of the region being very similar to that of Champagne, France.

"Budburst was timely, though it was very wet prior to flowering which, as a result, was slightly later than usual. However, we had a successful fruit set,
despite July and the early part of August coming in cooler than normal. The second half of August brightened
up with some very warm days, with this dry weather continuing throughout September until the end of the season, we picked in the latter part of October."

A lime-gold beading delivers a vibrant nose of mock orange and lemon thyme. The wine presents a complex palate of fresh kiwi and candied kumquat zest, with a grapefruit sherbet finish.
Delicious when paired with fresh Rock Oysters or goats cheese tartlets with honey and toasted walnuts.
