Rathfinny Estate Blanc de Blancs 2016 Sparkling Wine 150cl
Rathfinny Estate Blanc de Blancs 2016 Sparkling Wine Magnum 150cl is created using 90% Chardonnay, 8% Pinot Noir and 2% Pinot Meunier grapes, hand-harvested from the Rathfinny Wine Estate in East Sussex. This is the second vintage of the elegant English sparkling and after ageing on the lees for 36 months, it holds deliciously generous buttery notes whilst remaining delicate.
The Rathfinny estate is the perfect site for growing sparkling wine grapes with thin, clay loam soils over chalk creating great sources of water for the vines and the semi-continental climate of the region being very similar to that of Champagne, France.

"Budburst was timely, though it was very wet prior to flowering which, as a result, was slightly later than usual. However, we had a successful fruit set, despite July and the early part of August coming in cooler than normal. The second half of August brightened up with some very warm days, with this dry weather continuing throughout September until the end of the season, we picked in the latter part of October."
Enticing aromas of lemon curd and warm buttered croissants lead to a palate of fine, elegant bubbles bursting with flavours of fresh grapefruit and a generous peachy finish.
Delicious when paired with fresh crab and other shellfish or a light, yet rich cheese soufflé.
