Esporão Private Selection Branco 2020 is a surprising wine from Alentejo in Portugal. It is a ripe expression of Sémillon, offering up tropical and citrus notes which are complemented with some spicy oak influence.
The Private Selection Branco was first launched in 2001, with the concept of challenging perceptions of what can be produced in Alentejo. Australian winemaker David Baverstock introduced the idea of Sémillon here - it is not a native grape variety but has proven successful in the region's hot weather and granitic soils.
