Alheit Vineyards Cartology Western Cape White Wine 2019 75cl
The Cartology is produced from dry-farmed bush vines that are between 30 and 50 years old and is a blend of 90% Chenin blanc and 10% Sémillon. These bush vines give a great concentration of flavour and complexity due to the low yields.
The Chenin comes from parcels in the Skurfberg, Piekenierskloof, Perdeberg, Bottelary, False Bay and Tygerberg and the Sémillon comes from the old La Colline block in Franschhoek. The grapes are hand-sorted, pressed and lees ages from around 12 months.

This is an intense and powerful wine with an aromatic nose filled with citrus, blossom and sweet vanilla. The palate displays kumquat, oatmeal and honey. The finish is long-lasting reminiscent of salty/sweet candied lemon and elderflower.
Pair with rich creamy dishes, pork loin steaks with rosemary and shallots in a creamy sauce.
