Billecart-Salmon Cuvee Elisabeth Salmon Rosé 2009 Champagne 75cl
The Billecart-Salmon Cuvee Elisabeth Salmon Rosé 2008 stands out for its purity and expression that reveals a remarkable, individual character. The grapes used are selected from their best vineyard plots, with 45% Chardonnay from Grand Cru vineyards in the Côte des Blancs and 55% Pinot Noir from Mareuil-sur-Aÿ and Aÿ. 10% still red Pinot Noir is part of the blend. Primary fermentation is entirely done in stainless steel, and ageing on lees lasts for some 132 months in bottle. The result is a sumptuous, complex rosé that is delicious on release but with the capacity to age for over a decade further.
The exceptional cuvée rosé was created in 1988 to honor the house’s co-founder, Elisabeth Salmon, who married Nicolas-François Billecart in 1818.
