Barone Ricasoli Brolio Chianti Classico Red Wine 2020 Italy 75cl
Barone Ricasoli Brolio Chianti Classico is a benchmark red wine of the DOCG, from one of the biggest names in the region. It is comprised entirely from estate-grown grapes, 95% Sangiovese and 5% Colorino, grown across a range of different soil types, which is probably why this wine is so consistent and dependable. Aged in large format old oak barrels for 9 months, this is an honest, classic representation of Chianti Classico.

Grape: Sangiovese
2019 started with a mild winter, leading in to a dry spring and a very dry summer.
Lovely aromatic red fruit, with some dusty floral perfume. The palate is dry, savoury and mid-weight, with discreet tannins. Perfectly balanced, with lots of charm and some potential for further development in bottle over a decade.
This benchmark Chianti will work brilliantly with pizza, lasagne, salumi, or chicken cacciatore.
