Querciabella Chianti Classico Red Wine 2019 Italy 75cl
Querciabella Chianti Classico is a biodynamic, organic and vegan red wine. 74 hectares of prime vineyards in three top Chianti communes of Greve, Radda and Gaiole are the source for this 100% sangiovese wine. Their whole philosophy is to find a balance with nature in the vineyard, enhancing soil health and allowing the vines to express their terroir. Winemaking here fuses Tuscan tradition with innovation, geared toward producing authentic wines of superior refinement and elegance. Time is taken to allow the wine to age for over a year in French oak barrels before blending and bottling, after which the wine is matured for several more months in bottle before release.

Grape: Sangiovese
2019 in Chianti Classico was a classic year, with dry, temperate weather at the key moment of flowering. Summer saw good warm weather, with heat spikes interspersed with rainfall, thus the vines avoided hydric stress. Going into late summer, the fine weather continued, and warm days contrasted with cool nights, which was optimal for flavour development in the sangiovese grapes. The wines have power, balance and beautiful aromatics. Overall, this is an excellent vintage for Chianti Classico.
A bright, perfumed and complex Chianti Classico, with notes of pot pourri, sour cherry, bay leaf and juniper. Beautifully balanced on the palate, it feels like a very authentic expression of Chianti Classico: savoury, with fine tannins and crisp acidity.
A great food wine. This will work well with hunter's chicken, steak and game. Also great with tomato-based dishes and melanzane alla parmigiana.
