La Braccesca Santa Pia Nobile di Montepulciano 2017 75cl
La Braccesca Santa Pia Nobile de Montepulciano 2017 is the estate's top wine from an exceptional single vineyard, Santa Pia. The site and the winemaking techniques allow an elegant expression of Sangiovese: it is much more refined and less rustic than many Nobile de Montepulciano wines. You can expect a medium-bodied wine, with silky tannins and a mix of red fruit, earthiness and spice.
Owned by Marchesi Antinori, the La Braccesca estate spans some 508 hectares. One of the jewels in their crown is the 15-hectare Santa Pia vineyard, whose sandy and stony soils are conducive to the production of refined, perfumed Sangiovese wines. Winemaking follows a similar approach to other wines under the Antinori portfolio: gentle handling of the grapes and temperature-controlled fermentations to facilitate the extraction of refined tannins and pure aromatics. This Riserva wine is the result of patient winemaking, spending 12 months in 500-litre tonneaux and a further 20 months in bottle before release.
