Taittinger Les Folies de la Marquetterie Brut NV Champagne 75cl
Taittinger Champagne's Folies de la Marquetteries is a deep gold with highlights and fine, delicate bubbles. It has an intense bouquet with aromas of peaches, apricot jam and subtle hints of toasted brioche and vanilla. Full bodied with golden peach flavours, a long finish is distinctive with light toasty notes, rich and complex. “Les Folies de la Marquetterie” is a blend of 55% Chardonnay and 45% Pinot Noir.
The beautiful Château de la Marquetterie, where Pierre Taittinger was stationed in the First World War, is the family’s pride and joy and this sumptuous Champagne is made in his memory from the superb grapes grown in ‘Les Folies’, the vineyard that surrounds the Château. A Chardonnay, Pinot Noir blend it is made only in tiny amounts from the first pressings. Depth and finesse are enhanced by a small proportion of the blend being fermented in large oak casks and from extended ageing on its lees. A single vineyard Champagne oozing style and panache with a little extra weight - made with foodies in mind.
