Grape: Chardonnay
The 2016 vintage year was not without its challenges. Frost in the late Spring and low temperatures in the vineyards were followed by a wet May, June, and July which increased the threat of disease. Fortunately, due to a warm and dry August the crop was effectively saved and harvest began in early September. The result was fruit-forward wines with intense acidity.
With a strong, acid-driven palate that presents complex notes of ginger, saffron, cinnamon, and white pepper. On the nose, there are expressive notes of tropical fruits and exotic spices. The intense palate starts off energetic and then mellows to become more vinous.
