The Jacquesson Cuvee 745 Extra Brut is based around the 2017 vintage all from Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards from Aÿ, Dizy, Hautvillers (66%), Avize and Oiry (34%). Around 30% of the grapes come from Vins de Reserve and the finished Champagne is a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Before bottling the wine was vinified on the lees in oak barrels, to add texture and complexity.

Winter and Spring were exceptionally dry, with Spring being mild until frosts struck in April. The weather was good with increasing temperatures over summer until July. Towards the end of the season, the weather turned and was still hot but very wet. Harvest began on 4th September, and produced a low yield of healthy, ripe grapes. The wine produced is rich and dense.
On the nose bright citrus fruits come through with rich yeasty notes. The palate displays grapefruit, green apples, lemon and brioche. The finish is balanced with refreshing acidity and a creamy texture.
Extra Brut Champagnes are perfect for pairing with seafood, they also work well with strong umami flavours.
