Duval-Leroy Femme de Champagne Vintage 1996 Grand Cru 75cl
The 1996 Femme de Champagne from Duval-Leroy is a deep yellow in colour and is medium-bodied but full-flavoured. This champagne is a selection of the very best Grand Crus and is a blend of 79% Chardonnay and 21% Pinot Noir. It is stunningly fresh and intense for a 25-year-old champagne and is an elegant expression of the House and the vintage year.

Grape: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir
The 1996 vintage year is widely considered to be one of the greats. The entire region benefitted from a long, dry Summer and experienced few problems throughout the growing season. All the main grape varieties performed very well but Pinot Noir excelled. This is highlighted by how well the champagne has performed.
This beautifully aromatic champagne presents notes of succulent pineapple and nectarine, alongside vitalising lemon aromas. The body is remarkably fresh and silky, which makes way to reveal a mature and complex finish that is complimented by scents of aromatic stone fruits. Notes of lemons, dried fruits, and roasted pineapple are present across the palate.
