Bollinger R.D. Vintage 2008 Champagne 75cl
Bollinger R.D. 2008 Extra Brut Champagne is characterized by its remarkable precision and opulence. A composition of 71% Pinot Noir and 29% Chardonnay, this Champagne was blended using grapes from a total of 18 different crus.
R.D. stands for 'Recently Disgorged' and declares the sparkling wine has been disgorged less than a year before its release – and after ageing for more than twice as long as most vintage wines. It's what makes Bollinger's iconic Champagne so extraordinarily complex and aromatic.
Fermented entirely in oak barrels, Bollinger R.D is sold just a few months after being disgorged with a very low dosage known as “extra brut”, at just 3 grams per litre. The recent disgorgement guarantees the remarkable freshness of the wine. The combination of the long wait during the aging process and the immediacy of disgorgement enables the harmonious contrast between the different temporalities of R.D.
To showcase its unique style, we recommend serving Bollinger R.D. at a temperature of 12°C and appreciate the evolution of its aromas over the course of the tasting.
Bold and Splendid. An exceptional timeless Vintage.
