Ardbeg Ardcore Whisky is a limited edition smokey and rich single malt made using black malt. Described as tasting like ‘biting on a spiky ball’, Ardcore is a dram that wears its heart on its sleeve… its black heart!
The black malt used to manufacture Ardcore has been intensely roasted at extremely high temperatures in well-supervised kilns, producing smells that fill the nose with toast and marmite, coffee grounds, garden herbs, bonfire smoke, charcoal, and sticky molasses. Throughout the tongue and continuing in the finish, the palate gives flavours of cocoa powder, dark chocolate, peanut brittle, caramel, anise, grilled lime, soot, bonfire smoke, and malty biscuits.

Spicy and savoury flavours with hints of burnt toast, charcoal, chicory and coffee grounds infusion. Whilst swirling flavours of smoke, wood fire and molasses predominate, the traditional Ardbeg grass and fennel top note is still noticeable.
