Thiénot Cuvée Garance Blanc de Rouges 2011 Champagne 75cl
Thiénot Cuvée Garance Blanc de Rouges Champagne 2011 a powerful and elegant Champagne produced from 100% Pinot Noir sourced from Premier and Grand Cru vineyards. The Cuvée is aged for at least 8 years in Thiénots cellars at Rue des Moissons in Reims adding generous aromas of candied fruits and subtle cedar.
“Garance” is the name of a plant from the rubiaceae family, whose roots were used in the past to produce a red dye, which is a bright, clear shade of red. Alain Thienot has dedicated this remarkable Blanc de Rouges blend to his daughter Garance.

Grape: Pinot Noir
A cold winter followed by a fresh and dry spring with a slight delay to bud break. The vines remain healthy with more dry warm weather through to August. Towards harvest time slightly wetter weather making sorting of the grapes essential to maintain the great development of this singular 2010 vintage.
Displaying great finesse in the glass, deep and multifaceted and rich. There is a real power with notes of red apples, citrus acidity and mineral finish.
Pairs well with hard aged cheeses such a Parmesan or try matching with fried mushrooms.
