Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Rosé 2009 75cl Gift Box
Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Rosé 2009 is a prestigious release that is made entirely from Grand Crus in the Côte des Blancs and Montagne de Reims regions. The blend of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay is enhanced with the addition of 12% still red wines from Bouzy.
A slow maturation process ensures the champagne has reached optimal development. The 2009 vintage will have undergone over 12 years ageing in the Saint-Nicaise chalk cellars that date back to Gallo-Roman times. This maturation allows the champagne to reveal itself at its own pace with a most balanced expression.

Grape: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir
The 2009 growing season was the perfect reflection of a continental climate in Champagne. As a result of a very dry and cold Winter, a sun-filled Summer, and practically no rainfall throughout August and September, the grape development followed a traditional course. The grapes were at optimum ripeness and in an excellent state of health.
The 2009 vintage year presents an accomplished Comtes de Champagne Rosé with a signature that is both light and sun-drenched simultaneously. No white Comtes de Champagne was made in 2009, but the Rosé was, and the good acidity and remarkable freshness indicate that it is an exceptional vintage.

On the nose, there are energising notes of ripe and aromatic red fruits. Notes of blood orange, Morello cherry, and fresh peach are underscored with a hint of minerality and this brings a tantalising elegance forward. On the palate, there is a precise attack that is incredibly fruity but this gives way to reveal a fleshy, tannic structure that is reminiscent of the limestone terroirs from which it heralds. The finish is exquisitely fresh and presents final notes of wild strawberry compote and candied citrus fruit.
This elegant champagne makes the perfect pairing to lobster or white meat in a simple sauce. Alternatively, serve alongside a fruit dessert such as a baked pear or Morello cherry tart.
