Philipponnat Grand Blanc 2013 Vintage Champagne 75cl
Philipponnat Grand Blanc 2013 Vintage Champagne is a blend of 100% Chardonnay from the Premier & Grand Cru plots of the Champagne regions Cote des Blanc, Trépail and Clos des Goisses. This wine is a remarkable exception in Philipponnat's range as the House's hallmark grape is Pinot Noir and is a unique opportunity to discover yet another facet of the House's style in a fine, moderately dosed Blanc de Blancs Champagne.
This is an extremely elegant wine with a balance of freshness and floral aromas. The 'Extra Brut' dosage preserves the purity and distinction of the Chardonnay grapes.

"A year of contrasts with promising early ripening. Subsequent torrential rain in mid-August compelled us to sort the grapes meticulously in order to obtain a high-quality harvest that maintained potential for aroma and flavour. At Philipponnat the harvest took place from 15 to 28 September. Partial vinification in wooden barrels without malolactic fermentation allowed us to preserve the freshness and provide structure, in order to balance the fruit and the vinosity, and to retain good minerality."
Delicate aromas of acacia honey and fresh almonds with soft apricot notes developing after aeration. The palate is creamy and generous with smooth vanilla and stone fruit flavours. The finish is fresh and long with elegant mineral notes.
An ideal aperitif or matches perfectly with seafood, shellfish in particular.
