Jinzu Gin 70cl
Jinzu Gin 70cl is gin with a Japanese twist designed by bartender Dee Davies for Diageo’s Show Your Spirit competition in 2013 (which it went on to win), the gin is a fantastic example of East meets West, with traditional gin botanicals joining cherry blossom, yuzu and sake to form a distinctive gin with a real sense of place.
This gin is made by infusing juniper berries, coriander and angelica in neutral grain spirit in a copper pot still, before adding yuzu fruit & Japanese cherry blossom immediately prior to starting distillation. Junmai sake is then blended with the gin post-distillation. The resultant gin is surprisingly weighty and intense in style, with a powerful aroma and flavour profile that is unashamedly brash and contemporary.
