Joseph Drouhin Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru Lavaux Saint-Jacques 2011 vintage is ruby red in colour deep fruit aromas and silky tannins created an overall well-balanced wine. As with all Joseph Drouhin wines, the focus is on adequately expressing the terror and character of the vintage.
Located in the nort of the Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin is world-famous. Here, 'Lavaux Saint-Jacques' faces the south - 'Vaux' refers to the hollow, valley-like structure of the ground. The soil is lean and chalky with a red-brown layer of clayey marl.
