Champagne Geoffroy Collection No. 1 Preambulle Case 3x75cl contains three outstanding vintages 2000, 2002 and 2004 all with their own individual nuances and enlivening characters. This is a truly unique trio collection limited to only 200 produced and each is individually numbered.

The 2000 vintage is a blend of Chardonnay grapes 70% and 30% of Pinot Noir. The 2002 contains 35% Chardonnay, 60% Pinot Noir and 5% Pinot Meunier. Finally, the most recent 2004 is comprised of 71% Chardonnay and 29% Pinot Noir. All three vintages have been created using grapes grown in Premier Cru vineyards and are aged for at least 8 months on lees in French oak barrels and tuns.

"Please take your time to appreciate these precious bottles, so that you share the emotions that guided us as we created them" - Karine & Jean-Baptiste Geoffroy

2000 - "A warm and rainy winter is followed by a wet spring. Early flowering around June 14 amid perfect weather. The month of July is unusual with incessant rainfall and low temperatures. A few signs during August that it really is summer but there is hail too and then, some speak of a miracle, as the harvest begins, the sky turns blue and sunny. The harvest looks more and more satisfactory."

2002 - "The 2002 campaign is characterised by virtually ideal climatic conditions. After very little rain, the cumulated average rainfall from April to September is 30% lower than in a normal year. Summer sees a slow succession of warm, sunny days. It rains during the first few days of September but the sun quickly returns for the harvest period. Smaller bunches of grapes result in a harvest of a reasonable quantity but with a potentially exceptional level of natural sugar."

2004 - "A clement spring is followed by an unstable summer. There is plenty of humidity and temperatures are cool during a rainy month of August. The first part of September is warm; conditions for the harvest are good. Nothing could reasonably have predicted that vines would be capable of such physiological prowess. At the harvest we pick a large quantity of grapes with well-balanced levels of ripeness and acidity.
Stunning on the nose with white floral aromas, which is followed by bright citrus notes, lemon sherbet, orange blossom and tangerine. The palate tells flavours of red berries, wild strawberries and stone fruits. The finish has hints of vanilla and butter toast.
Champagne lovers will truly enjoy and appreciate this wine as an aperitif however it can also be matched perfectly with seafood and shellfish such as crab or sea urchin as well as a rich truffle and parmesan risotto or a piece of lightly grilled beef.
