Cattier Brut Icône Champagne 37.5cl is made from twenty different Crus, primarily using pinot grapes. The perfect combination of power and finesse, it owes its complexity to these pinot varieties and from the older wine added to the blend.
With a blend of 50% Pinot Meunier, 30% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay, the final result is a generous champagne, brimming with vitality.
Cattier Brut is part of the Cattier Champagne House's tradition cuvée champagnes. Their centuries-long tradition combined with modern production methods have helped produce a fine champagne with amber golden colour, lively, full and fresh on the palate with floral, tropical notes and brioche aromas. On the nose, the Champagne presents full-bodied aromas of rich pastry with notes of pear, black cherry and blackberry. These are followed up with notes of dried apricot and hazelnut. The palate presents full and fresh flavours of grapefruit, lemon and ginger which dominate. However, more gentles notes of cherry, Mirabelle, pear and apricot are present. This fresh tartness continues through to the long, powerful finish.
A great champagne to serve as an aperitif, the Brut Icône is perfect alongside gougères and all sorts of savoury hors d’oeuvres. It will also be a fitting accompaniment to dishes such as capon in a cream sauce.
