Sauza

Sauza Tequila is a product made in Tequila, a municipality of the state of Jalisco, Mexico. It was founded in 1873 when Don Cenobio Sauza started La Perseverancia distillery.Not only were the Sauza’s among the oldest families involved in the production of tequila, but they have also been responsible for many innovations that have shaped the modern tequila industry. At the beginning of 1700, Tequila was a remote village in Jalisco and had a local reputation for its mezcal, called “vino mezcal” or “vino tequila” and the tradition has been maintained until today, with a method where the sugars in the blue agave piñas are extracted and fermented. After fermentation, they are distilled and according to the type of tequila, aged for a period from several months to as much as five years.

Sauza is one of the big names in Jalisco and its tequila. Now into company's second century, it continues to drive the tequila industry and its innovation.
