Glenmorangie Malaga Cask 12yr Old Single Malt Whisky was finished in casks that once held the world's rarest fortified wines after spending 8 years in hand-picked American oak bourbon casks.
Dr Bill chose a select parcel to be stored in historic Malaga wine casks from southern Spain - so rare that they once faced extinction - imagining that this would add a multitude of sweet, syrupy flavours to the whisky. The result was everything he hoped for bringing a new-found richness to Glenmorangie's famous soft and creamy style.

On the nose, there are sweet and rich aromas of honey, toffee and bread leading to more subtle, perfumed hints of stewed herbs and red fruits followed by milk chocolate. Adding a splash of water releases aromas of wood, roasted chestnuts and muscovado sugar. The palate is full of raisins, dates, honey and chocolate with occasional lifts of vibrant citrus. The finish is long and mellow with sweet cinnamon and nutmeg spices, hazelnut and oak.
