Which Champagne shall I choose for Christmas? Discover a delicious, special bottle of Champagne to toast and start Christmas with and continue onwards with either Turkey, Beef or Vegetarian food pairings, and serve Champagne throughout the meal for Christmas this year.

Roast Turkey or Chicken - Roast Turkey with cranberry sauce calls for a Champagne that has ample fruit to complement it, but don't forget all the side dishes. We would recommend something that is complex as well as fruity, and our choice would be Louis Roederer Collection (preferably from magnum). Laurent-Perrier's famous rosé has so much red fruit character, it could almost mimic the cranberry sauce and be a real winner at the Christmas dinner table.

Roast Beef or Lamb - Traditionally paired with red wines, this can work brilliantly with a Blanc des Noirs or heavier Pinot Noir- a very much a gastronomic Champagne and has enough power for roasted red meat.

Vegetarian - Perhaps based around squash, pumpkin or root vegetables, a 'veggie roast'and more savoury meal, based on mushrooms or truffle is ideal territory for a Champagne that highlight's the serious side of Pinot Noir: Bollinger PN does this brilliantly.

Seafood - If 'Fruits de la Mer' is the theme of your festive meal, then it is hard to go wrong with Champagne. Cleaner, more linear styles work tremendously well with cold shellfish and crustacea. Try Dom Pérignon or a low dosage Blanc de Blanc are great options. Smoked salmon will take something with a little more breadth of flavour. Bollinger Grande Année would be magical with smoked salmon blinis. Roasted seafood, perhaps with a decadently buttery sauce, is the ideal excuse to drink the very special, beautifully rich, Pol Roger Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill.
