Lanson Champagne

Lanson Champagne began in 1760 when Francois Delamotte began making and selling his own brand of champagne. In 1786 he took on a new partner Jean-Baptiste Lanson. In 1856 the Lanson family gained full control and the name was changed to Lanson Pere Fils. Lanson is famous for blocking the malolactic fermentation preventing the conversion of malic acid to softer lactic acid. The end result is a full-flavoured bracing fresh wine which needs time in order to shed its acidity and show its richness.

Lanson is also one of teh oldest holders of the Royal Warrant. Recently Lanson have produced two new wines - the Green Label Organic Champagne and also the Clos Lanson with grapes exclusively from a one hectare plot within the walled city of Reims.

LANSON'S ORGANIC CHAMPAGNE

Lanson Green Label Organic Champagne is produced from organic grapes grown exclusively on an estate vineyard at Verneuil in the heart of the Marne valley.

Lanson have been committed to organic and biodynamic cultivation for many years, the vineyard is dedicated to protecting the ecosystem and respects the balance between soil, plants and humans. It is part of The House of Lanson's overall approach to respecting the environment and follows a strict ecological logic – the bottles are lightweight and the labels made of recycled paper.

An award winning wine too, with the seal of approval as a Decanter Bronze Medallist 2018.
