Willunga 100 Sheer Madness GSM Australia 75cl
Willunga 100 'Sheer Madness' 2024 GSM is an Australian blend of 57% Grenache, 38% Shiraz and 5% Mourvèdre. The 2024 vintage is medium-bodied with fresh acidity, fine tannins and a lingering finish.
The wines were matured for 18 months in a combination of French oak puncheons (500 litres) and hogsheads (300 litres) before being carefully blended prior to bottling. The name is a nod to Percy Moritz, one of the first people to plant vines in Blewitt Springs. When Percy Moritz first bought the land in Blewitt Springs in 1921, his parents asked what he was going to do with the land. He replied he would plant vines. They said that this was ‘sheer madness’. In fact, it was sheer genius, as vines are the only crop that will grow on the sandy soil of Blewitt Springs.
