The 2019 growing season was long, hot and dry and lead to a slightly early, low yielding vintage. The wines from the 2019 vintage are rich in fruit, substance and are well coloured. The 2019 vintage will be remembered for producing wines that reflect the generosity for which has made the Barossa famous.
The 2019 Mataro from Turkey Flat has hints of blueberries and jubes on the nose. A touch of savoury notes with sophistication sees the playful and seamless wine coat the palate with joy. Subtle oak integration over a brief eight months adds fine tannins to the finish.
Turkey Flat Mataro should be enjoyed with hearty, earthy foods, such as slow-roasted lamb, game with wild mushrooms and thyme or roasted 5-spice duck.
