Pizzini Pietra Rossa Sangiovese 2018 is a seductive and elegant red wine from King Valley in Victoria, Australia. The wine is lightly oaked and has a lovely concentration of fruit and a vibrant freshness. Pietra Rossa is Italian for red stone, which references the rocky, iron oxide-rich soils from which the fruit for this wine comes.

The palate is rich and layered with plum, cherry, earthy tones ,and subtle liquorice, as well as chalky tannins. The Sangiovese can be enjoyed immediately or cellared until 2030. 

King Valley is one of the highest-altitude grape-growing regions in Australia.  The Valley’s continental climate provides warm days and cool nights, influenced by the breeze that sweeps northward down the Valley from the high country.
