A flagship wine from the iconic Mount Pleasant Winery, the Shiraz is produced using the finest grapes that were carefully selected from the Rosehill vineyard. The wine delivers a compelling balance of vibrant red fruit, floral perfume and subtle spice.
The Shiraz is fresh and lovely as a young wine but will mature in the bottle for at least 25 years.
The Rosehill Vineyard was first planted in 1946 and produces wines that are quintessential of Hunter Valley. The single vineyard is a representation of the best of this vineyard in that specific year of production.

Grape: Shiraz
On the nose, there is an abundance of cranberry and raspberry notes layered with perfumed notes of plum, violet and spice. The palate has a velvety smooth texture, with touches of blackberry, cherry and liquorice. The wine is matured for 16 months in French oak barrels, allowing for a subtle oak character.
The 2019 Shiraz pairs well with roasted beef or lamb, aged cheeses and grilled vegetables with a balsamic glaze.
