“Giant Steps has been a trailblazer of the modern Yarra style for almost 20 years … their range of single-vineyard wines from various sub-regions is an excellent barometer of climate, vintage and terroir.”– Angus Hughson, Vinous.com, March 2024
'Pinot Noir in Australia has come a very long way. Every year now there are many gorgeous examples of this variety produced from a fairly narrow band of regions. The Yarra Valley in particular has hit a stunning patch of form, as the list below clearly shows. Giant Steps’ Applejack Vineyard Pinot Noir from 2022 is a ripping wine, and was a clear winner at the Awards judging.' Halliday Wine Companion Awards 2024.
‘Pale to mid crimson. Assertive, firm and spicy – more emphatic and probably with more of a future than the Primavera. Long and fine and subtle without much sweetness. Quite muscular for a Pinot. Definitely distinctive! But made with a gentle hand. Long, vibrant and vibrating on the finish. Very good wine with real substance and ambition.’ Jancis Robinson MW, June 2023, JancisRobinson.com
