Chapel Hill McLaren Vale Grenache 75cl
Chapel Hill McLaren Vale Grenache 2020 from Australia's McLaren Vale wine region is a bright, ruby red wine made from 100% Grenache grapes, sourced from a single vineyard known as the Mataro Vineyard.
The origin of the Chapel Hill Winery dates back as far as early 1865, around the same time as the chapel of the same name was established by Methodist settlers who relocated to the McLaren Vale area, and served as a place of social gathering, worship and a school. In the early 1970s, it was in a state of disrepair and was purchased by Professor Thomas Nelson, who planted grapevines on the plot for the first time, and worked hard to convert the decaying and old chapel, incorporating office spaces, tasting rooms and a winery. The original ironstone chapel from 1865 remains proudly in place today, and even serves as an integral part of the tasting room.
Awarded Double Gold Medal 98/100 at the San Francisco Wine Competition 2025. Perfect with Peking Duck.
