Dandelion Lionheart of Barossa Valley 2023 Shiraz Case Deal is 12 bottles of the rich red wine that is a perfect reflection of the heart and soul of Barossa Valley. The wine is aged for 18 months in French oak barrels and can be enjoyed now, but could be cellared for up to a decade. It is a triumph of both the terroir and the skill of the winemakers.
Sourced from old vines from a very good 2023 Vintage in the Barossa, and these vines have been hanging on for over a century, this is a wine that’s all about flavour and drinkability. The 2023 vintage is packed with dark plum, blackberry, and a little hint of spice, wrapped in soft tannins and a touch of oak that adds just enough polish without taking away its easygoing charm. It’s made the old-school Barossa way - hand-picked, wild-fermented, basket-pressed - but the end result is straightforward and delicious, not overworked or showy.
Lionheart is named after The Barossa Valley's lifelong champion of old vines, Carl Lindner. It comes from ancient, gnarled vines, some approaching and many over a hundred years of age, that not only survive but thrive on their roots in some of the oldest soils on the planet.
