The 'Enchanted Garden' vineyard was planted in 1910 and is thriving to this day, in the cool climate Eden Valley site in Barossa. The soil is sandstone bedrock with ironstone gravels and quarts and red rock fragments on the surface, providing great minerality for the Riesling. This is evident in the wine, and accentuated by the minimal filtration and fining and truly capturing the essence of the vineyard

The lead up to the 2024 season was characterised by significant winter rainfall, followed by a dry spring. Variable fruit set and frost impacted the yield potential, however rain at the beginning of December assisted canopy and berry development and good soil moisture levels supported vine growth well into January. The summer eventually warmed up and dried out, with some short bursts of heat which lead into a warm, dry autumn that delivered optimal maturity and ripeness in the fruit. Attention to detail in the vineyard resulted in excellent fruit with intensity, stunning acidity and freshness.
The 2024 Riesling is clear and bright with a golden colour, and the resulting wine is pure and powerful. It offers beautiful aromas of honeysuckle, dragon fruit and citrus flowers, which are framed by musk and rose petal aromatics. The palate exhibits deep citrus flavour which is complemented by tart green apple and lime flavours. A taut acidity delivers a mouth-watering finish.
The acidity of this wine would perfectly complement salty cheeses, particularly feta, manchego or roquefort, and would also make a delicious addition to a spicy meal.
