Charles Heidsieck Blanc des Millénaires 2014 signals the latest iteration of Charles Heidsieck's 100% Chardonnay cuvée. A masterpiece from the Côte des Blancs, this cuvée spends eight years maturing in the heart of Charles Heidsieck's two-thousand-year-old chalk cellars.
Created using grapes from just five villages, Vertus, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger, Avize and Cramant, this cuvée demonstrates the art of blending the finest, purest terroirs.
'Blanc de Millenaires' is named in honour of its aging conditions in the thousand-year-old Crayeres (chalk cellars). This is the fifth vintage release created from the best Chardonnay birthing elegant and superb wines full of finesse and liveliness.

The 2014 growing year produced exceptional Chardonnays that boasted sensational crispness. After particularly cool and humid weather at the beginning of summer, the sun reappeared mid-August for an Indian summer that lasted until September.
On the nose, the wine presents three distinctive, successive stages. Initially it is fresh, with minerality and saline notes. It then moves into fruity citrus and kiwi notes before expressing classic tertiary aromas which define the House style: puff pastry, brioche, dates and dried apricots. The 2014 vintage has great depth which is defined by an elegance derived from the exceptional Chardonnay fruit. A remarkably voluptuous texture and a seemingly never-ending finish.
The 2014 vintage would pair perfectly alongside beef carpaccio with capers and grilled hazelnuts. Alternatively, enjoy with French cheese such as Saint-Nectaire.
