The Liberator Episode 30 Methode Cap Classique Wine 75cl

The Liberator Episode 30 ‘Come Quickly, I Am Drinking The Stars’ Methode Cap Classique is the first sparkling wine from The liberator range and is a stunning example of South African sparkling wine. Richard Kelley is a Master of Wine specialising in the wines of South Africa having lived and worked in the Cape between 1995 and 2002. Rick seeks out and ‘liberates’ rare wines from around the Cape and releases them in episodes.

This wines name ‘Come Quickly, I Am Drinking The Stars’ is credited to when Dom Perignon claimed to have invented Champagne, a quote that is, in fact, fictional. The wine had gently been ageing on its lees for the previous five years before being disgorged in December 2020.

ABV: 12%

Pairs well with…

  • Brie
  • Brioche
  • Pulses Veg
  • Seafood
  • Shellfish
Grape: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir
The Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes have benefited from barrel fermentation and five years of lees ageing adding rich creamy flavours of brioche, apricots and honey. This is balanced with lifting citrus fruits, minerality and a nutty finish.
Pair incredibly with creamy chicken and pork dishes.
