Meerlust Estate 2023 Chardonnay is made by one of the Cape's most historic wine estates, originally planted in 1693. In 1756, it was purchased by the first Myburgh and has been the pride of the family ever since. Today, after seven generations, Hannes Myburgh, the present owner, continues the great family tradition of winemaking.
This is a bright, polished Chardonnay with a complex nose of fruit and floral notes with a medium-bodied palate with balanced, crisp acidity and a stony minerality.

The wine presents as a bright, polished platinum, with lively green hues. The bouquet is complex and enticing, with aromas of citrus, pear and floral notes, evolving into oatmeal, lemon cream and marzipan richness. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, with a focus on citrus fruit flavours, and a balanced, sleek and crisp acidity.
