Tenuta Musella Amarone Riserva Red Wine 2016 Italy 75cl
Tenuta Musella Winery has both cellar and offices in a rural court of the 16th century, surrounded by green meadows crossed by the river Fibbio, which originally hosted the stables of the aristocratic Villa which. The cellar, equipped with the latest technologies and with such an extension of a total area of 400 hectares, Musella offers a remarkable differentiation in the soil composition that reflects on the quality of the wines. Furthermore, they prioritise soil health and biodiversity through organic and biodynamic farming.
The winemaking consists in the “appassimento” which is the process of drying the healthiest and ripest bunched of picked grapes on cases in a well naturally ventilated loft. Once the grapes lose at least the 35% of their original weight thereby concentrating sugar, aromatic compounds and noble tannins, they are gently crushed in January. The wine gets fermented at low temperature, transferred to oak barrels, mostly from Allier forest and the wine remains one year in bottles before release.
