R De Rieusseec 2022 is a Bordeaux Blanc dry white wine blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon. Produced by Château Rieussec, a renowned First Growth estate in Sauternes owned by Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite). It offers a vibrant alternative to the estate's famous sweet wines, historically made just for the Rothschild family's private consumption.

The 2022 opens with aromatic hints of lime, lemon, grapefruit, and thyme, balanced by subtle vanilla and smoke from oak aging. The palate is lively and chalky, featuring a crisp minerality and a signature saline finish.

The grapes are hand-harvested and gently pressed to preserve freshness. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel and oak barrels, with six months of lees ageing.

Tasting Notes

The 2022 vintage has prominent scents of fresh lemon drops, lime and squeezed grapefruit that are combined with herbal notes of thyme and lemongrass. Delicate oak nuances and undertones of vanilla, subtle smoke and wet slate from partial barrel fermentation. The first sip is bright and crisp with a high intensity.
