Philipponnat Cuvée 1522 Vintage 2018 Champagne is a blend of Pinot Noir from Le Leon in Ay and Chardonnay from Oger. The wines are vinified in wooden barrels without malolactic fermentation and aged for 6 years, allowing complexity to develop whilst maintaining freshness.
A blend of 72% Pinot Noir and 28% Chardonnay, the wine is fresh and expressive. At a 4.25g/l dosage, the wine is an extra brut and is best served between 8 and 9°C as an aperitif.
Perfect to enjoy now, but can be cellared for a minimum of ten years to develop its aromatic complexity.

The nose is rich and captivating with aromas of lightly toasted brioche, vanilla and crème brûlée. A generous and creamy palate reveals notes of patisserie with a hint of candied citrus fruits. The finish is persistent with a distinctive and delicate note of spicy white pepper that is the signature of this cuvée and of the terroir of Ay.
The Cuvée 1522 is perfect alongside seafood, grilled fish, caviar, or Indian tandoori. It is best served between 8 and 9°C as an aperitif and 10 to 12°C when eating.
