Clos de L'Oratoire Les Chorégies Châteauneuf-du-pape 75cl
Ogier Clos de L'Oratoire des Papes Les Chorégies Châteauneuf-du-pape is an old vine cuvée, based mostly on Grenache Noir, with some Mourvèdre and Syrah. It comes from 4 exceptional micro-terroirs: Lagrande in La Crau, Pignan, Saintes-Vierges and La Bigote. Soils are a mix of the famous galets roulets (heat-retaining, large, round stones) and sand. The wine grapes were left as whole bunches for vinification, and the wine is then aged solely in 18.7 HL French oak tuns for 12 months - they claim to be the only producer in Châteauneuf-du-pape using this vessel type. It was aged a further 8 months in concrete vat before resting 30 months in bottle before release.

96 Points - Wine Spectator
Grape: Grenache, Syrah
This is full-bodied, with soft tannins that are typical of Grenache Noir. The aromatic range is extraordinary, with notes of cherry, bay leaf, thyme, black olive, cured meat and peppery spice.
Delicious with red meat dishes such as spicy lamb or rich flavoured beef dishes.
