Clos de L'Oratoire Des Papes Châteauneuf Du Pape is one of the outstanding wines of Chateauneuf du Pape. L'Oratoire means Oratory, a place of prayer built in the 18th Century. The simple stone structure situated in a corner of the vineyards is dedicated to a patron saint.
The Clos de l'Oratoire des Papes benefits from the fabulous diversity of the soils with valleys of limestone, sand terraces on red clay. The wine undergoes a long post-fermentation vatting; then ageing in a mixture, both in terms of size and age, of oak barrels for 14 months.
