Henri Giraud 2010 Chardonnay Côteaux Champenois Blanc 75cl
Henri Giraud Chardonnay Côteaux Champenois Blanc 2010 is a rare still white wine, made from 100% Chardonnay grown in Grand Cru vineyards in Aÿ. Côteaux Champenois is a very small appellation used for still wines in Champagne; most grapes in the region go into sparkling Champagne, making these wines rare and collectable.
The Chardonnay Côteaux Champenois Blanc is pale gold in colour with silver highlights. Aromas of citrus, yellow fruit and subtle oak with mineral and smoky hints. The palate is elegant and lively with balanced acidity and a chalky minerality. The 2010 vintage has been described as a "Champagne terroir expressed like a white Burgundy."
Henri Giraud is known for using Argonne forest oak barrels for ageing wines, and aims to always use traditional winemaking methods.
