Drappier Grande Sendrée Brut Vintage 2015 is a beautiful, aromatically complex cuvée. The 2015 vintage is rich, expressive and well-balanced, with toasted notes that intertwine with subtle notes of vanilla. A blend of 55% Pinot Noir and 45% Chardonnay, the Grande Sendrée has a dosage of 4.2g/l.

Grande Sendrée is the name of an archipelago of plots on Kimmeridgian chalk, covered in ash a er the re that ravaged Urville in 1836. Cendree (cinders) was changed to Sendree after a light spelling error made its way into the new version of the land register.

In a unique Louis XV bottle, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are revealed at their highest level. Ideal as an aperitif, superb with a carpaccio de Saint Jacques or a truffled Brillat Savarin.

Grape & Harvest

Grape: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir

The 2015 vintage stands out for its warm, sunny, and dry year. After a normal winter, drought intensified in spring and summer, with record high temperatures in July and August. Fortunately, lifesaving rains in August partially restored the water cycle. The abundant sunshine favoured optimal ripening, resulting in rich, expressive, and well-balanced wines. A sun-blessed vintage with great aging potential.

Tasting Notes

On the nose, the 2015 Grande Sendrée has a beautiful aromatic complexity, where woody and toasty notes intertwine, subtly enhanced by a hint of vanilla. On the palate, the attack is generous and warm, marked by spicy accents reminiscent of curry, with a buttery texture that adds a delectable sensation. The wine is perfectly integrated and well-structured. Overall, the 2015 is carried by a balanced freshness, extending the tasting experience to a harmonious and elegant finish.

Food Suggestions

Ideal as an aperitif. Ideal as an apéritif, superb with a carpaccio de SaintJacques or a truffed Brillat Savarin.
